Back from my 10days long flight moscow-houston, the best flight ever! =)
ten days of fun with my dearest apollo 13. thats what the 13 of us called ourselves. i really enjoyed myself very much. perhaps the 10days away from home made us closer. surprisingly i didn't get homesick at all. haha. ops. instead i felt 10days flew past in a blink of an eye. i miss them soooo much now. and i got a bit emo on my last day. the cruel them wanna make me cry on my last day. haha... i didnt though cos we were all drained after the full load return sector. its very rare and hard to find a set of crew like them.. i felt really blessed to be part of this family even though its only for 10days! =(
i have truckloads to say... pardon me..... i'll start from the briefing room where i reported for work. i felt the the jitters as usual... was darn nervous and gan jiong can... i sat in the briefing room, being the earliest... then slowly one by one, they came in.. most of them gave me really good impression from the start. i can see the genuine smile from all as they shook my hand. then the girls began the usual talks and gossips. about shopping, sightseeing and everything under the sun. IFS joe, very fatherly chap, made my eyes teary right from in the briefing room. he said, "its a 10days flight, we are all gonna work hard. but lets have a good time together. and we have shandy here. she is very new. Please take care of her and guide her along the way. treat her like how you want others to treat you. bcos never forget how you started. somewhere along ur life, you have all been thru this phase." his words really warmed my heart esp when i'm still trembling because i'm too nervous for the flight.
Its beyond words to describe how i felt during these 10days. there were too much emotions. nervous to start with, but was overwhelmed with warmth right from the beginning. then with the crew, they made me so comfortable, they took care of me throughout the entire trip. i gotta admit they spoiled me even at work... esp the ls. they basically covered everything for me.. actually i did a grave mistake during my ist sector.. i was on check people! but my leading did not penalize me at all! in fact he gave me a fantastically good check report! all 70% & 80%! its freaking good as a start can! actually i've a close and open check report, theoretically i am not supposed to see the closed report, but he showed it to me! basically he complimented on my attitude. thank you very much my dearest LS. =) they say i dont give them the feeling that its my third solo.. cos usually new crew will be a bit isolated and withdrawn. but its them who made me so comfortable that i can be myself with them. love you people.. esp sharon, elizabeth, jamie, raymond, keith and christopher. it really feels good when you work with your friends, people whom you adore. its like anytime, when they are bored, they will knock at my room, jus to chit chat, drink, laugh, play or simply jus sitting around. before we reported for work at the hotel lobby, they will knock on my door ist then we will make our trip down together. if they are done earlier, they will jus sit in my room and wait for me... not the usual formal kind when you reach the lobby you have to greet everyone by their names and say the niceties. isn't it jus great? =)
We went to red square in moscow.. the buildings are beautiful! and we drank alot.. basically every free night we drank in my room! cos the vodka in russia-moscow is darn cheap! one big bottle is only 10 usd! =) fun fun fun! of cos the night always ended fun cos we were all high. In US-texas-houston, we went to nasa (National Aeronautics and Space Administration), a theme park and a shopping craze! haha.. i spent ard 600 USD on shopping there...
this trip is really special to me. ;) and i cherished it very much for some reasons. i'm jus afraid the good memories will fade as days pass. its the last thing i want. so for now, as much as i can rem i will keep them in my heart.
